This is the writer’s collection of interviews with people that provided valuable first-hand information about how the Oil Industry helped form and shape the School District in Andrews County. The writer shares his personal account of stories of people and events over thirty-six years.

THE WIT AND WISDOM OF JOE RAY HALSEY (2016)

This collection of stories is a small sample of the wit and humor, and acumen of Joe Ray Halsey. Those who played for him, coached with him or taught with him know these stories and can probably tell many other stories. Joe Ray is an entertaining person who has the ability to “lift spirits” and bring smiles to faces. This book tells a few stories dealing with teaching and coaching kids.

WE CAME FROM GEORGIA: A Wallace Family Generational History (2013)

This is a compilation of photographs and family stories of the Wallace Family that came to Bosque County, Texas from Rome, Georgia in 1895.

BOSQUE COUNTY MEMORIES (2011)

The writer interviewed several people to get the information for this book. The Mustang Community Store and Cream Station was an important part of the Mustang Community’s History. The Midway Store served the people of Bosque County for many years and its story includes several people who lived and worked there over several years.

PECAN HEIGHTS (2010)

This is a story of an East Dallas neighborhood where many families raised their families during and after World War 2. This is a story told from the memory of the writer.

AUSTIN BRIDGE COMPANY: A Good Outfit (2009)

This brief history attempts to document the blue-collar men who devoted their skills and loyalty to a organization that built bridges and provided work for many American workers over many years. The writer shares many stories of the men he knew and worked with in his formative years.

CAPTAIN WADE E. KNUDSON: A History of Service in World War ll (2008)

Documents, photographs and stories tell a story of a young Army Air Corp pilot during World War ll.

AS I REMEMBER: Growing Up In Mustang (1998)

This is the writer’s story of his memory of the very special people he knew while growing up in the Mustang Community in Bosque County, Texas. He shares stories about people, places and events that occurred in this rural Norwegian farming community.

LINCOLN SCHOOL (1997)

This is a brief story of a school in Andrews County that served the black community from 1950 until 1961. This brief history and collections of photographs document the school’s 11-year history.

GEOLOGY GUIDEBOOK AND ROAD LOG: Big Bend National Park & Davis Mountains Area (1972) (Revised 1989)

This work was completed as partial requirement for obtaining a Master’s Degree in Geology Education from Sul Ross University.
